Dry-rub barbecue is the specialty here. I had never tried dry-rubbed ribs before, and I think I'm in love! I never even thought to ask for sauce, but I think they do provide sauce, if you want some. The menu is pretty succinct: dry-rubbed meats, sides, a couple of desserts. There's a bar at the other end of the restaurant if you want a beer or cocktail. I got the half rack of ribs with two sides, and I chose mac & cheese and slaw. I was told that the mac & cheese is the thing to get here, and yes, it is! The mac & cheese is super creamy and made with large shell pasta, sprinkled with a bit of pepper. It was amazing. I visited with a group, and we ordered a bunch of sides for the table. I demanded the Kool-Aid pickles, which are pickle spears soaked in cherry Kool-Aid. I don't even like pickles, but I needed to get this abomination of a side. And you know what? The Kool-Aid pickles were good! They tasted like pickles, but were a nice reddish color. We also got the pimento cheese, which came with a literal sleeve of saltines still in the plastic package. And the Memphis Sushi, which is a platter if kielbasa sausage circles served with rectangles of cheddar cheese, saltines and pepperocinis. I saw banana pudding on the menu, and I had to get that. I love a good banana pudding, and this one is great. It's served with whipped cream and a Nilla wafer on top. It's a great way to end a great southern barbecue meal.

I have waited a long time to get to Nashville and this is not only my first stop but a priority and planned part of our trip around this meal! When I say this Is Good Barbecue I mean like first kiss on a second date good! Or as Tony the Tiger might say "It's Great!" I could smell the Magical aroma as soon as I got out of the car! I began to salivate! Walking up I could see several tables smiling, licking their fingers, and relishing every bite. Cold beers, glasses of Sweet Tea and happy patrons abound! I made my way to the counter and my delirium began... uh.. uh.. what do I order? Don't worry there is no shortage Of helpful people working tonight to guide me through my culinary carnival. The gal suggested her fave, the Dry Rub Half Bird! Beans and Potato Salad! Of course when you go to a new Bbq place you Have to try a Pulled Pork Sandwich yes with slaw on it! We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by another friendly employee. Of course I ordered a House Label Bourbon, and it did not disappoint. Smooth and Flavorful. In fact it was so good I went to a retail shop and bought two bottles to bring home! The server called my name for food. As I returned with my tray the smell was intoxicating and I couldn't wait to dig in! That Chicken was so hot and moist and perfectly seasoned. Them beans were served so hot I had to wait to eat them. His sauce is excellent as well, light tomato base not too sweet and just the right amount of vinegar. I loved this potato salad obviously made from scratch! The Bbq Pork....Ridiculous it was so good I think I was up to my ears in it! Yes I enjoyed every bite! I have had Bbq all over this country... this Rates in my Top Three! Eat more Barbecue because it more than just a way to cook, it's a whole lifestyle, a culture and in some places a religion!

The first stop on my journey to find the best bbq in the country. After watching lots of videos and of course at the recommendation of Yelp, Pig leg Porker was a must try for us. The location is located in the Gulch district of Nashville. I found affordable parking on the street no more than a block away. There is a large patio out front with tables. Ordering is easy at the counter. You also have the choice of sitting at the bar to drink and dine. I knew 2 things about the bbq here it's either dry rub ribs or pulled pork. I am not big on pulled pork, so I naturally opted for the dry rub ribs. These ribs are exquisite and blow away any ribs I have had before anywhere. I did get to try the pulled pork sandwich, and I surprisingly enjoyed it. My sides consisted of Cole slaw and macaroni and cheese. And lastly, I tried the banana pudding, which sadly was terrible. But I did not come here for dessert so that didn't matter. Overall, Pig Leg Porker is excellent compared to the finest Texas BBQ. I highly recommend stopping here for a fine meal!

The food here was amazing! My kid had the kids meal and I tried the pulled pork and Mac and cheese and it was great. I shared the 1/2 rib platter with my other son, and we ate every bit. The ribs were Smokey and tender, with a great dry rub on them. I did like that they weren't spicy so my kid could eat it, but I heard someone ask for spicy sauce. We also ordered two fried pies and the person at the cashier told us she can place them on hold so they will be ready and fresh when we want them, nice touch! The pies were so good, flaky, not too sweet. Highly recommend!

Get here early since they sell out! We got the dry rub pork ribs and it did not disappoint. The meat fell off the bone and we wanted more... the potato salad was one of the best we had. The cole slaw doesn't have a lot of mayonnaise which we really liked. It had more of the vinaigrette taste to it. Overall, we enjoyed our late dinner and they have a dog-friendly patio!

While on walkabout in the Nashville Gulch seeking murals, I came across the 'Peg Leg Porker'. As I was hot, thirsty, and hungry, a pit stop of BBQ and sweet tea was just the thing I needed. As you walk in the scent of BBQ wood smoke hits you in the face and your taste buds start to moisten. If someone could place that scent into a candle they'd make a lot of money. The dry-rub ribs were fantastic. Nice flavor and fall off the bone tender meat. The pulled pork sandwich was just as fantastic... juicy with a vinegar tang and topped with coleslaw.

I just landed at BNA and my first order of business was of course food. The locals I know here said this was the place for that family owned restaurant and recipes. What an amazing find in an area called the Gulch. You order at the counter and pay. From there you get to find your own seat. Very spacious indoor and outdoor. The younger gentlemen at the counter helped me order for my party and nothing was left. Food was legit so damn good. I might go back one more time before I leave back to LAX

The sides at Peg Leg Porker are my favorite thing about it! 1/2 rack--good at the meaty part, liked the rub spices, felt like it was chewy on top which made it harder to eat Mac and cheese--delicious, runny, had a kick which I loved Potato salad--yum! mayo based which is much preference Kool aid pickles--pickles with a fun twist, it was "surprisingly good," salty with a bit of sweetness and a hint of fruit Bbq beans-- not just beans with bbq sauce, really yum, a little smoky

What great staff, so much love was given to my dog even the manager/owner (?) came out for a visit. Ordered the Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich and Nachos Fries. There is NOT one complaint food was delicious! If I lived in Nashville I'd be there all the time. Thank you for making my 1 and only dining experience so warm and welcoming. Also picked up a PLP baseball cap to pimp out the biz!!
